A story from the story teller

Everyday I pray for god to give me more wisdom, so that I might solve life's problem and look at the world differently. God has obviously blessed her (Yasmin) with a huge amount of wisdom, so that she may deliver it through her movies. Here's an excerpt from her blog I friend of mine found.

"One evening, an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all. One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, greed, and arrogance. The other is Good - It is peace, love, hope, humility, compassion, and faith."

The grandson thought about this for a while and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf wins?"

To which the old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

My respect to you great Yasmin, I'm sure you picked the right one to feed. Thank you once again for everything.

Talented Yasmin Ahmad

As everyone know by now, Yasmin Ahmad, one of Malaysia's greatest film director has passed away. She has left behind a legacy of great films such as Sepet, Gubra, Mukshin as well as some famous heart warming commercials.

I only met her once in person, and I must seriously thank god for that. How often do you get to meet someone who is not only a famous celebrity, but more importantly someone you respect and look up to from time to time. In fact her movie SEPET was the first local film I ever watched in a Cinema, and ironically Talentime was the last local movie I also saw in the Cinema

It was thanks to her (as well as other indie film makers out there) that inspired not only me, but many other people out there to pursue their dream to make movies and even music in this country, where Creative talent and art is not always appreciated.

I'll still keep her blog link, reading it I learned many things and I can see what she has gone through to become the person she is today.

RIP Yasmin Ahmad, and thanks for everything.

Stimulating Conversations

A very meaningful weekend just passed. Manage to to hang out with some of my closest buddies and just chatting away through the night. After working in an office for so long I guess I really need a break out of the normal routine.

Saturday night I met up with Ah Wai and Yaw Yee at Sunway. We talked about the both of them getting out of the office and working freelance. I guess even so called stable jobs have their cons. Chatting with them I had a sense of confidence I have lost for so long, makes me want to lead role again and do crazy stuffs.

Sunday night after Cheng Hui's house warming I went to Sunway again to yum cha with Cheng En, Tan Jie and Cheng Li. Again Cheng En and Tan Jie have been freelancing without a norm job for quite some time. It's tough but I'm happy because they are putting their effort to chase their dreams, doing what they want to do. Although many people kinda look down on people like this, but I respect them for their passion and strength to move on. You go guys~

Monday Night was another session in Bangsar with Damian and Izuan. I was so surprised with Izuan told me (I'm not suppose to tell people yet) but I am so happy for Izuan as me and him are both experiencing the same thing, we both can hear destiny calling out to us and it's about time we answer the call. I'm with you Izuan all the way. Oh and thanks for lending the Screenplay book, I'll be sure to read it, haha.

All this while I've been playing safe and not taking any major risk for fear of failing and of course family pressure. For once I just screw it all and get into some real action.
